Defining Your Goals

You have to know your destination before you can plan your route.

Determining your destination (your goals) can be difficult. We work with farmers every day to understand what they'd like to accomplish on their farms. Just about everyone wants higher yield but, what's the real goal?

Setting your goals is the first important step toward achieving what you want. Without goals, you will lack focus and direction. Goal setting is a process that starts with careful thought about what you want to achieve and ends with a lot of hard work to actually do it. We work with farmers to assist them in understanding what they would like to accomplish on their farm be it higher yield, better flavor, less erosion, lower costs, better water management, etc.

what is your goal?

One thing is true and that is that farmers are farmers because they like farming. Heaven knows farming is hard work and nobody would do it if they didn't love it. Of course, it's nice if you can make some money doing it, too. And the icing on the cake is if you can do good for the world while you're at it. When all is said and done, you have to make a living. So, in reality, profit is king. You can achieve high yield, but if you have to apply so much fertilizer that your expenses exceed your revenues, then, that high yield isn't really worth it, is it?

It is said that no one ever saved his way to prosperity. Somehow, you have to find the happy medium between cost cutting and spending to get measurable value in terms of high quality and/or higher production. We can assist you in finding the products and programs that will give you the best return on your investment adding to your profits at the same time as building sustainability on your farm.

That's a challenge we take on every day. We can help you to develop a long-term strategy for success - - however you define it -- and help you reach your 'destination' by taking small, tactical steps.
