Humates are the only known substance that have the ability to capture and hold or chelate (meaning "claw") in an available form, all other nutrients known to mankind. For this reason, when applied directly to soil, humic acid is a powerful fungi promoter, a nitrogen stabilizer and phosphate complex agent.
Along with their natural chelating and complexing properties, the ability of humates to increase permeability of cells can improve nutrient uptake by up to 40%. Humates can also buffer pH and reduce the effects of excessive elements (e.g. sodium), toxic chemicals and heavy metals.
TrueHume Soluble Organic Humate Powder contains 95% humic acid, 58% organic matter, 12% potassium and 1% nitrogen. They also contain sulfur, calcium, magnesium and iron and trace amounts of iron, manganese, copper and boron. These granules carry a pH of 9.25.
TrueHume Humate Powder can be used as a dry amendment because it will solublize on contact with water. It can also be solublized in water and added to liquid fertilizers and nitrogen applications. Humates should be added to all nitrogen applications to help stabilize the nitrogen. It should be added to dry applications or liquid starters and foliar solutions at a rate of 1kg dry or 8 L liquid per acre, as well as added to manure to buffer nutrients and provide a slow release effect. A jar test should be performed to ensure compatibility.
120 g of TrueHume Humate Powder will dissolve to make 1 L of 12% Liquid Potassium Humate when mixed with 1 L of water. Pound for pound, the concentrated humic and fulvic acid content of TrueHume Soluble Organic Humate Powder is nearly double that of others on the market.
Once the desired formulation of humic/ fulvic acid solution has been mixed, further dilution will be required (20 gallons of water to 3.75 L of 12% reconstituted liquid) for use with various spray apparatus.
